Within the 1st few chapters, I felt like my heart was being squeezed.
In good ways, fun ways, and sad ways!
I even reached out to you Facebook junkies as I HAD to have an outlet for some of this excitement:
+++What I'm Reading Now+++
#Connected by Kim Karr @authorkimkarr
It's still early on, but so far "Connected" is soooo good!!!
I have been through one mood swing to the next.
Feeling all happy and smiley, then moving into the excited tummy jitters, then onto crying! *Sigh*
I swear this book just might tear me apart...In the best of ways, of course...and I'm only 60 pages in!!! ♥ ♥ ♥
#whattoreadnext #movethisonetothetopofyourlist
There's a lot of back story within these chapters, but it's well played.
I HATE when past story lines drag out and take forever to get to the point, but with this one...everything that is shared is necessary, but even more, it flowed beautifully and I never had that "hurry up already moment".
Another thing that I really want to touch base on -
I felt that even though there is kinda sorta a cliffhanger (don't turn around just yet!), it almost made this book better....Yes; Better!
Those last few chapters, will have you thinking "What the muff is going on here", as some of the earlier pieces of the puzzle start to fit together and you're feeling dazed, confused, excited, and anxious.
Of course you're left wanting the full story, (we're only human!), but it's not like someone is jumping off a cliff and is in mid-air when it ends. (Yes, I have read books like that, and it's just wrong to do that to us!! )
So what's Connected about?
Dahila has had a lot of heartache in her life.
Her parents were taken tragically.
Now, she's basically alone, aside from her boyfriend, Ben.
They've known each other since they were 5.
Being lovers was just kind of the next step.
They love each other and go through life as they always have.
Happily...
Comfortably.
Then one night, Dahila agrees to go to a bar with her bestie, and has a staring contest with a complete stranger.
She stares.
He stares.
They can't take their eyes off one another, and
It's all very High School, but it's so the kind of thing you want happening to you!
They met.
Sorta.
Have drinks.
Take shots.
Share a special moment, but
Dahila gets spooked.
She knows the feelings she's sharing for her new drinking buddy, River Wilde, is dangerous.
She has a boyfriend.
One she loves very much, but
River makes her blood flow to places she hasn't felt before and she feels alive.
So she bails...
Leaves River and the bar and jets back home before any shenanigans can take place.
Life plays out and happens as it should.
Ben and Dahila are great.
They continue on their same life plan, until one night, something unexpected happens that will change Dahila's life forever.
Her upturned world has been flipped upside down, but a surprising event leads her to a reunion with the infamous River Wilde, and it will change her forever.
After the two connect again, even after all this time, nothing has changed between them.
If anything the current that flowed between them has gained strength.
It's like a lifeline.
The more time they're spending together, the more neither of them will ever be the same without the other, but the problem is...Can Dahila ever really get over her past?
The lurking ghosts that cling to her and haunt her every memory are always just a blink away.
Will River and Dahila be strong enough to conquer that together, or
are secrets sometimes too much for the future to handle?
5 Stars
Oh yes...This is going to be one of *those* books.
*Fist pump*
Ooooh...and guess what?!?!!
*Jumps up and down*
*Squees*
*Plasters on BIG FAT CHEESY GRIN*
There is mention of THE Kellan Kyle in this book!
That seriously put the cheesiest grin ever on my face, and possibly made me love River and Dahila and Kellan more! {Hearts}
