EXCERPT
Dear Diary,
My boyfriend is a vampire. My sister is dating a vampire. No human knows, but me. It's still unbelievable, but I love him no matter what he is. Is that bizarre? The feeling that lingers inside my body is astonishing. It seems impossible.
The first time I ever fall in love, the first time I ever find a guy that is incredible, irresistible, and unimaginable, he turns out to secretly be a vampire that was born in 1886.
Is it wrong that I'm in love with someone that's 127 years old, but he's trapped in a teenage body? It feels right, but it sounds so wrong. He has lived a fulfilling life before I was born. Before my Mom, Dad, Grandparents and Great-Grandparents were even brought into this world.
Andrew is a vampire. He's my vampire. I'm in love with a vampire.
Love, Nina
MY REVIEW
Dark Love was a sweet, mysterious, and had a few surprises.
I loved Nina.
I felt that I knew her.
I didn't always agree with some of her actions, but I understood them.
I found her to be noble, but some of her decisions were heartbreaking.
The girl has really been through a rain storm, and I kept wanting to reach out, wrap my arms around her and give her a big hug and let her cry it out.
Sometimes when you're helpless, you feel that's all you can really do, right?
The Diary she writes made the story for me.
We're with her all the time since it's written in 1st person, but the diary was more intimate.
I loved that!
Now for Andrew...
*Sigh*
You can really tell he's wise beyond his years.
He's sexy, mysterious, and loves Nina without fail.
*Swoon*
I love their blossoming relationship and his protectiveness of her!
I believe if you enjoy YA with a paranormal twist, Dark Love would be a great read for you!
4 Stars for me!
Also available in Paperback at Barnes & Noble!
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
My
name is Olivia Howe. I'm 19 years old. I was born in Florida and raised in
Maine. I love to read and write. Music is a big part of my life. A year ago, I
got diagnosed with MDD (major depressive disorder) and GAD (generalized anxiety
disorder). I'm still currently fighting depression. Writing my novel titled,
Dark Love, truly saved my life. It's completely FICTION, but most of the diary
entries I got from my own journal. It focuses on a young girl struggling with
depression (obviously because I'm in the current situation). I wanted to be
able to have people, that are struggling with the same issues, be able to
relate to this situation that my main character is in and hopefully help them.
I also included a lot of fantasy in the story because I personally love
everything about fantasy.
