Club Prive, Book II, by M.S. Parker

Forgiveness.

Could you forgive someone who has betrayed you? When your head reprimands you to do one thing, but your body screams another.

What would you do?
How would you feel?
Can there be a middle ground?
NO WAY!

In Club Prive, 1, we grew to understand how passionate Gavin is about Carrie.
As intense as we thought 1 was, Prive 2, has nothing on that.
Gavin gives us so much more.

Not only on the intensity side, but the sincerity side, and he had me going bonkers in the best of ways over that.

And guess what?
Just when we *think* our lovely Mr. Gavin has all his little skeleton's out of the closet, he throws the hammer down with another big one!
Whoopsie!

Bet you didn't see that one coming, did you Carrie?
Me either!
*Squee*

Looking forward to digging deeper into the mind of our bad boy in Club Prive, 3!
I think we're going to see a whole new side, and I can't wait!
4.5 Stars for me!

Club Prive by M.S. Parker

I am wrapped!
I'm going to go ahead and say it...
I will end up being a Club Prive junkie!

From the get-go, it was really easy to move into the pages.
Super quick read.

Carrie is so wrapped up into her job, that she lets lose for a girls night out.
On this night out, she bumps into a blue eyed beauty. *Sigh*

I don't want to give any of the story away, but let's just say - You have no idea where things are going to go, but we hope they go somewhere.

In the end we're all left biting our nails and scratching our heads, and left anxious and excited, and on edge to know what's next!

Can't wait for Book 2 to come out in just a couple of weeks! (April 25th!)
You've got to check this out.
I'll be waiting...
(Heart)

Come Undone by Jessica Hawkins

This is THAT series that I have been talking about for the last month or so.

Who even knows why I kept putting this off, but I did, and now I feel like kicking and slapping myself as I type!
How could I have deprived myself from this fantastic find for so long?  Really!

I can’t even describe my feelings right now...
I am a mess over this book.
Not a crying mess, but a built up anxious, twisted, stressed out, “what the freak is going to happen next” mess.

I read it in a day.

I found myself staying up until 2 in the morning just to finish it, and throughout the day…Well, let’s just say Dad had to play Mom for a day.  I could.not.put.it.down!

The build up to the story is wonderful and I can see this happening to someone in real life.
Lots of normal everyday stuff going on, but you can feel the lust, shame, guilt, and anxiety of the “What if’s”, “Why not’s”, and “How Come's” that happen throughout the story!!!

I am dying already to dive into Book 2, Come Alive, but I had to share my feelings on this one with y’all 1st before I get tangled in the next web. Eep!  Can't hardly wait!!

Pick this one up you guys.

It does not disappoint! {Heart}

For my rating...I think you can all tell where I'm at on this - 5 Stars, baby!  5 Stars.

Here's the Reading Order.  I think you're going to need it *Wink*

Torn From You by Nashoda Rose

Were you up all night?
We were in this together, right??

Last night I told you guys that #TearAsunder was happening and guess what?
It did.
I went under.
Big time!

I loved it.
A lot…
Emotional Rollercoaster - Say no more.
I’m all over it! {Heart}

Let me start by saying that I’m seriously afraid to divulge too much of what’s going on throughout the story. It’s too hard to tell you really anything without giving everything away, BUT I will say –
If you enjoy the control aspect (oh yes – the control!), dark scenes, lots of steam with several unexpected twists, this is definitely the book for you!!

Down to the good stuff…

Did I mention Sculpt? *shrugs*
He’s only a rogue, tattooed, Illegal fighter, turned rock star, bad ace – SWOON!

But there’s more…
We know nothing about him!
So, we love him already, because he’s all secrets!

Emily…
Well...she finds herself in a less than desirable circumstance to say the least, and she thinks (we think!) that the one person she can trust (Sculpt) is actually the one behind EVERYTHING that is currently being throw down, and we’re all No Bueno, Si Bueno.
No...
Wait?
No Bueno!
Right.
No. Bueno.
*snickers*

Oh yea... it's that good...
So kick up those heels and get comfortable.
I don’t foresee you moving for a while.

Torn from You, is a standalone, but I recommend reading it with WithYou, which is the prequel.

Loved the Tear Asunder Series!

5 stars for me!

Another thought worth mentioning –

Some of the secondary characters are getting their own books!
Pretty stoked about this since I grew to love them all!

Even Mr. Hot, Protective, Grumpy Pants!

I can’t wait to follow their journey’s moving forward.
Really.
I can't wait.

Return to Poughkeepsie by Debra Anastasia - Blog Tour, Review, and Giveaway!

 Author: Debra Anastasia
Title: Return to Poughkeepsie
Publisher: Omnific Publishing

Beckett Taylor is a murderer.
His calling, his craft are destruction and intimidation—whether he wants it that way now or not. He left Poughkeepsie to keep his brothers safe, to keep Eve safe. Set up with happy lives to live, they’re better off without him, right?

But all his willpower crumbles when he hears his brother Blake’s frantic voice on the phone. An unknown enemy has moved in on his old territory, and Livia’s been taken. In an instant, Beckett knows it will take an attack only he and Eve can execute to bring her back. All his self-imposed embargoes are torn to shreds, perhaps along with the new man he’s struggled to become.

“Brother, call Eve. I’ll be there soon.”
In this emotional and action-packed sequel to Poughkeepsie, Debra Anastasia conjures a tale of love at its most raw and ragged. With Beckett and Eve, how could we expect anything less? But even when it’s messy, not magical, true love perseveres. Real love finds a way—for better or for worse until death does part.

REVIEW
 Love.
Commitment.
Trust.
All things unspoken.
It is a brotherhood.

Becket Taylor is an off the charts bad mo'fo.
His life has been about all things bad.
Evil...
But he's always done it to protect the ones he loves.

Currently in hiding and trying to turn his life of crime around, Beckett gets a phone call no one wants to receive.

Someone is missing, and it's enough to bring his reclusive self out of hiding and into harms way as he tries to save his family and the one and only woman he could ever love.

This is a story of crime, passion, the truest friendship and love story you could read.

If you thought Poughkeepsie was awesome, you haven't seen anything yet!

Return to Poughkeepsie hit all the right notes for me!
WONDERFUL

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Debra Anastasia is busy, just like every other mom. There's dinner, the dogs, the two kids, the two kids, and her ongoing battle with...ahem... digestive issues, which combined with her adolescent boy sense of humor makes for colorful and sometimes cringe-worthy social media updates. Her first love and crowning achievement is her thriving career as the weirdest mom on the block.

Her writing started a decent handful of years ago when--along with the animals and humans in her house--the voices of characters started whispering stories in Debra's ear. Insomnia was the gateway to plots that wouldn't give up, wouldn't let go. Now they stalk her everywhere. Halfway through making lunches, a twist takes hold and--fingers full of peanut butter--she finds somewhere, anywhere to write it down.

She's eternally grateful to Omnific Publishing, which has now published four of her books: two in the Seraphim Series and two in the Poughkeepsie Brotherhood Series, as well as her novella, Late Night with Andres. That one is special because 100% of the proceeds go to breast cancer research. (So go get it right now, please!) She also very much appreciates her open-minded readers, who embrace everything she has to offer, with a focus on anti-heroes and bathroom humor.

Debra lives in Maryland with her family. You can find her at DebraAnastasia.com and on Twitter @Debra_Anastasia. But be prepared.

One to Hold by Tia Louise

One Mistake. One Lie.  One Week.
Could you do it?

***Steam lovers welcome!***

The 1st few pages will have you hooked and the plot keeps thickening.
I had a pretty good feeling when Melissa and Derek left what they both wanted to be a stay-cation, it was going to make my blood boil with love, and possibly rage (as I thought I might have to shake one of them)!

I was right...
I did want to shake someone, but
Not necessarily either of them.

Okay!
Maybe...*Wink*...but HIM! *Glares*
HE was the one I had devil eyes for, and
HE is no bueno, and
Guess what...?
I loved that part of the story!

It got my heart thumpin' and I found myself second guessing what was going to happen next.
{Heart!}

Another favorite of mine was the epilogue.
I don't normally say that, because I have such a hard time letting my characters go, but in this case it worked.

I was ok with saying goodbye.
I felt like I knew them both more in that last chapter and could feel that they were going to have their happily ever after, and would continue to do so, after we said goodbye.

4 stars for me!
I'm looking forward to Tia's new release in January called "One to Keep"!
O.T.K, is Patrick's story, and I know he's going to do all the right things for me! *Muwah*

Elect (Eagle Elite, #2) by Rachel Van Dyken - Blog Tour, Review, and Giveaway

Author: Rachel Van Dyken
Title: Elect, Eagle Elite Series, #2
Publisher: Grand Central Publishing

Would you die for the one you love?
Nixon Abandonato made his choice. And now he has to pay the price. Tracey is the love of his life, but being with him has made her a target of his family's enemies. The only way to keep Trace alive is convince the world she means nothing to him.

Trace Rooks has fallen irrevocably in love with the son of her family's sworn rival, and she knows in her bones nothing can tear them apart. Until Nix suddenly pushes her away and into the arms of his best friend... But Trace isn't ready to give up on a future with Nix--and if he won't fight for them, she will.

In the end, a sacrifice must be made. A life for a life. For what better way to cover a multitude of sins than with the blood of a sinner . . .

EXCERPT
“Let’s make a pact.” Chase put his hand on my shoulder.
“A pact?” I sniffled and turned to him. “What kind of pact?”
“One that’s forever. One that protects people rather than hurts them.”
“How do we do that?” I was suddenly interested. What if I could make all the hurt go away? What if I could save everyone!
“We do this.” Chase pulled out his pocketknife and cut open his hand, then nodded to me to do the same thing. Without pausing I cut open my hand and handed back the knife. “Blood brothers. We’re never gonna hurt each other and we’re gonna save those like your ma, Nixon. Ones who can’t save themselves. We’re going to protect them.”
“How?” I watched as the blood dripped from my open palm.
“Rules.” Chase shrugged. “They keep people safe, right? At least that’s what my mom says.” He smiled. “We make rules and we start our own club. That way, we don’t have to listen to anyone but us.”
I liked it. I chewed on my lower lip. “What do we call ourselves?”
“The chosen?” Chase offered.
“No, that sounds lame. We have to sound… more powerful than that.”
My eyes flickered to the road, and a sign poked into the ground. It said election. “Elect.” I pointed. “Let’s call ourselves The Elect.” It made sense; after all, the president was elected, wasn’t he? We weren’t exactly chosen, but we were making the choice, we were electing ourselves protectors. That’s what we were.
“Who else can join?” Chase asked.
“Tex and Phoenix. They’ll want to.” A weight suddenly felt like it was being lifted off my twelve-year-old shoulders. “Should we shake on it?”
“Yeah.” Chase smashed his hand against mine as our blood mixed. “No going back, Nixon.”
“No.” I shook my head. “No going back.”

I pressed my fingers to my temples and watched, replaying that moment over and over again in my head as the outline of Chase and Tracey flickered in the moonlight. Would he really do this to me? After all the shit we’d been through?
I gauged her reaction, hoping that I would be wrong. Praying to God that Trace would just this once listen to me. Her eyes flickered with interest for a few brief seconds before she looked down at the ground.
“Shit.” I waited in the shadows. A part of me knew this would happen. The part that told me to damn my feelings to hell and ignore all the warning signs that I’d been seeing. But now it seemed like it was too late. I stayed, planted where I was, watching, waiting.
“Chase, you can’t…” Trace shook her head. “You can’t be like this. We can’t do this!”
“We aren’t doing anything,” Chase said in low tones, reaching for Trace’s hand. “Don’t you?” He looked directly at me, although all he saw was a shadow. I knew I was well hidden. “Don’t you feel the same way?”
Trace jerked her hand away from Chase’s. “It doesn’t matter what I feel. It’s not about me, Chase.”
“But it is.” Chase reached for her again. This time her hand grasped his in such an intimate embrace I thought I was going to vomit all over the ground. The outside air was cold as hell as little pieces of ice tried to find their way into my wool coat.
“It isn’t.” Trace sighed. “It never was.”
Chase jerked her toward him. She fell against his chest and looked up into his eyes. “What are you doing?”
Chase sighed. “What I should have done a long time ago.” He grabbed the back of her head and pulled her in for a kiss. Their lips touched.
I had to look away.
The only sound in the night was that of my soft footsteps as I walked away… leaving my heart in broken pieces where I’d last stood. She was lost to me; it wasn’t even the Sicilians that had taken her, but my best friend.
A gunshot rang out loud and clear in the night air. I turned back around just in time to see Trace collapse into Chase’s arms.

Just when you *think* you know who you can trust and *exactly* what is going on, things will shift and you are left, once again, second guessing them AND yourself.

an overwhelming sense of Love,
Up until the very last line.

Eagle Elite Series by Rachel Van Dyken - Reading Order

The Eagle Elite Series is my newest obsession!

What's funny is, a trusted bookie told me I NEEDED to read this series months ago...
It's no secret that I adore Rachel Van Dyken, but I kept putting it off and putting it off, because I honestly wasn't sure if I could get into the whole mob/mafia thing.

Ha! WRONG! So, so, sooooo wrong.
*Slaps self*

Needless to say, they have created a little mafia monster in me!
I can not get enough!!

Elite by Rachel Van Dyken

Do it.
Just Do It.
Pick it up and read it now.

I started "Elite" yesterday and could not put it down.
In fact, we had a family outing last night, so what did I do?
Went to bed early and woke up at 3am just to finish reading it!

Crazy, right?!
I know...
I get it.
I do.
Something is seriously wrong with me...
BUT it was really that good!!

So what's Elite about?

Trace Brooks is a small town farm girl, who winds up being a random "lottery winner" to the prestigious institute of "Eagle Elite".

She's excited to be heading for college. To be chosen to attend "Eagle Elite" is such a dream come true!

Now, with her being the lottery winner and all, she feels that she is 100% set for the term of her time there. Clearly, everything would be smooth sailing when she arrives on her new stomping ground, right?

Wrong!
So. So. Wrong.

Everything that 1st week is like living in a nightmare.
A reoccurring one at that!

Literally.
The things that happen will make you cringe and want to spit flames of fire at a certain someone(s), but then things shift.

At 1st we don't know if it's for the better, or worse...or what to expect really.
We just know that things are changing, and the more information that is revealed, the more your head is left spinning in all the best kinds of ways! {Heart}

5 Stars for me!!
A BIG thank you to a trusted Bookie who lead me on to this series!
*High 5's chic*
YOU ROCK!

Gabriel's Redemption by Sylvain Reynard - Blog Tour, Review, and Louboutin Giveaway!!!

Author: Sylvain Reynard
Title: Gabriel’s Redemption (Gabriel’s Inferno Series #3)
Publisher: Penguin Berkley

From the author of the New York Times bestsellers Gabriel’s Rapture and Gabriel’s Inferno comes the epic conclusion to the captivating romantic trilogy.

Professor Gabriel Emerson has left his position at the University of Toronto to embark on a new life with his beloved Julianne. Together, he’s confident that they can face any challenge. And he’s eager to become a father. But Julianne’s graduate program threatens Gabriel’s plans, as the pressures of being a student become all consuming. When she is given the honor of presenting an academic lecture at Oxford, Gabriel is forced to confront Julianne about the subject of her presentation—research that conflicts with his own. And in Oxford, several individuals from their past appear, including an old nemesis intent on humiliating Julia and exposing one of Gabriel’s darkest secrets.

In an effort to confront his remaining demons, Gabriel begins a quest to discover more about his biological parents, beginning a chain of events that has startling repercussions for himself, Julianne, and his hope of having a family.

My Review:

Once again, I thoroughly enjoyed Sylvain's writing.
I didn't hate that I was thrown into it the pages like a yo-yo.
You're up, you're down, you're all around...
As most of you know, I adore and clutch onto that kind of feeling!

Most of all, I appreciate the fact that we got to stay with all the original characters, with the addition of some, and were informed of how their lives progressed throughout.

This series could easily (and should be!) turned into a movie!!
I loved it!

Julianne and Gabriel, both took a different twist in their personalities.

Julia is far more assertive, and can you believe it...(??)
She's a little bit of a vixen!
It was fantastic watching her come into her own.
She knows what she wants, won't back down or give in, even when there is plenty of temptation around, BUT somehow she's still one of the sweetest people you know.

Gabriel...Well, he cruised on the both sides of the spectrum.
He was in control (no big surprise there!), but he was also more vulnerable.
More compassionate.
Seeing him evolve from being the man of steel, to wanting to be a caregiver and become a father stole my heart.  Even more than he had in the previous books!

It was a side to him that I wasn't sure we would get to see...and it was most welcome.
It has been heartwarming to see him grow into the man he is now.

All the secondary characters were all great once again.
The jabbing between several of them gave me a chuckle, and other times my heart broke for them.
Even for the girl we're supposed to dislike...
You just want to reach into the pages and comfort her at one point in particular and "B" slap her in another.

Even more, I loved following them around in their stories and was glad to know some of the previous "issues" were somewhat settled in their lives so we weren't left feeling empty.

I'll conclude by saying - Be kind to one another.
Karma is a *itch!

4.5 Stars for me!

About the Author

I'm interested in the way literature can help us explore aspects of the human condition - particularly suffering, sex, love, faith, and redemption. My favourite stories are those in which a character takes a journey, either a physical journey to a new and exciting place, or a personal journey in which he or she learns something about himself/herself.

I'm also interested in how aesthetic elements such as art, architecture, and music can be used to tell a story or to illuminate the traits of a particular character. In my writing, I combine all of these elements with the themes of redemption, forgiveness, and the transformative power of goodness.

I try to use my platform as an author to raise awareness about the following charities: Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation, WorldVision, Alex's Lemonade Stand, and Covenant House. For more information, see my Twitter account.
